Colby is so excited, he can hardly wait for halloween this year! His preschool classroom is all decorated with real pumpkins, pictures of black cats & jack-o-lanterns. In addition to dressing up for trick-or-treating, he gets to wear his costume for his preschool's harvest festival & all day on the 31st which is a school day. He has told me over a dozen times now that he wants to be a ghost. "Not a nice ghost, Mommy. A scary ghost." And of course, I bought him an Oakland Raiders jersey that was on sale last winter & Paige a Raiders cheerleader outfit. They were supposed to go as Raiders fans together for Halloween this year. Isn't it cute when siblings or families go with a theme? Not gonna happen here.
So yesterday, I decided to embrace the ghost costume idea, particularly the idea of making my child a homemade costume, something that he really, really wants to be. Something that he will be excited to wear, that will last for 3 separate events & he can show off to his little friends. I found a white hoodie & white capris (both in the girls section of Target, don't tell Colby) and a whole set of white sheets for $6! (I checked Goodwill for these items first without any luck.) So, here is my halloween preview picture. Let's call it a "before" picture. I can't wait to make it ghostly!Hmm, what do you think the finished product will look like???
